Welcome to Hidden Valley

Welcome to Hidden Valley School!  Our campus is nestled in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood, backing to Open Space with a wide open field and views of Mt. Tamalpais.  The spacious natural beauty of our campus invites our community of learners into a world of natural curiosity while developing skills, deepening knowledge, and discovering potential.

At Hidden Valley you will see students develop a curiosity about, knowledge of, and a sense of responsibility toward their learning, ideas, and the larger community. Buddy classes reading together, students collaborating on a design-thinking problem, flexible seating that allows student agency, and students quietly writing reflections with soft music in the background are common classroom sights.

What makes our school really special? Relationships. With approximately 300 students, typically two classes per grade level, dedicated and skilled staff embrace the process of building relationships, making connections, and discovering how each student learns best. Students grow in an atmosphere where learning is both joyful and challenging, where teachers know them as individuals, and where they belong. A place that is safe to take risks, learn, grow, and contribute.  Come join us!

Celebrating RVSD's Continued Academic Achievement and Improvement

At last night’s Board meeting, we celebrated the continued academic growth taking place across our district. We were proud to share the results of the 2025 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), which reflect the hard work of our students, staff, and families. These results not only demonstrate meaningful progress toward grade-level standards but also affirm our shared commitment to excellence and equity for every learner. They serve as a powerful guide as we continue building on our successes and strive for continued academic achievement across all our schools.

RVSD's Fiscal Cliff: What It Means for Our Schools

At our last Board meeting, CBO Chris Carson presented the unaudited actuals, closing last year’s budget. While I wish I could share better news, RVSD remains in a difficult financial position. One-time COVID funding has ended and the state’s temporary enrollment protections have expired, leaving us facing what many call a “fiscal cliff.”

Important Updates on E-Bike Safety for Students

Across Marin and the state, we’ve seen a dramatic rise in the popularity of electric bicycles (e-bikes) among young people. If you’re a parent of a 4th-8th grader, I'm sure you’ve heard all about them from your child! Unfortunately, we are seeing a concerning increase in serious e-bike-related injuries, especially among students ages 10 to 15, including internal bleeding and brain trauma from the excessive speeds and the weight of e-bikes when students crash.

In response, new e-bike laws are taking effect across Marin County this summer, in alignment with California’s AB 1778...
